Jesus sent out the Apostles in Luke 9:1-5 and He sent out the 72 messengers in Luke 10:1-16, without clothes, food or money. They had to depend on God and the graciousness of those they visited. Talk about a faith walk!! I am not so sure many of us would be willing to set out on this type of journey. Wouldn’t you have doubts?
And what about the feeding of the five thousand as recorded in Luke 9:10-17? They did not have enough food to feed the crowd, but Jesus took care of them. If that would happen in our society today where a large group of people had gathered and there was no food, the message would be, “Sorry about your luck, you’re on your own.” But Jesus cares. He cares about each and every one of us! We can count on that!
